Celebrating the launch of Offshore Service and Other Stories

On Wednesday 19 August, we celebrated the launch of Craig Cliff’s Offshore Service and Other Stories at Dunedin City Library.

Hera Lindsay Bird launched the book with a wonderful speech, combining a close reading of Offshore Service with reflections on its place in Craig’s writing career. Craig then spoke about the genesis of the collection and treated the audience to a reading of ‘The Waikato Farmers’.

Offshore Service and Other Stories is Craig’s first short-story collection in sixteen years. The collection explores the emotional, economic, cultural and climatic forces that drive our decisions, with stories spanning Aotearoa New Zealand, Australia and Fiji.

Our sincere thanks to Dunedin City Library for hosting the launch, to Paper Plus for managing book sales, and to everyone who joined us for a lovely evening.
